Wincasinolic is a boutique casino hotel built by people who actually play

Wincasinolic started in 2009 on East 8th Avenue with eighteen rooms and a single roulette table that had seen better days. Sixteen years later we have forty-two suites, three private salons and a team of forty-eight, and we still run the place the same way: small enough that the front desk knows your name, serious enough that the games are run properly. Everything we build is for adults aged nineteen and over who want a real night out in Vancouver without the noise and queues of a mega-resort.

Our Story

It began with a leaking roof and one stubborn table

The building was a tired 1960s motel when we bought it. Half the rooms had water damage, the parking was a gravel lot, and the one roulette table in the back room was the only thing making money. We spent two years fixing the plumbing before we bought a second table. That order of operations — building first, gaming second — is still how we decide where money goes.

Our Philosophy

Two things done properly beat five done badly

We are not trying to be a mega-resort with a spa, a nightclub and a concert hall. We picked two jobs — comfortable adult rooms and a floor that is genuinely good to play on — and we put every dollar into those. That focus is why locals who live twenty minutes away still book a Tuesday night here.

  • Small enough that staff remember your preferences
  • Games run by trained dealers, not trainees on rotation
  • Limits and cool-off tools built into every booking
  • Kitchen and room service open when the tables are open
  • One rate, no resort fees, no service charge surprises

Values

Four rules we do not bend on

Written on the wall in the staff room. Everyone who works here has read them, and anyone who cannot follow them does not stay long.

Care first

If a guest is having a bad night, the game stops. Every staff member has the authority to step in, and nobody gets in trouble for doing it.

Play it straight

No hidden fees, no rigged promotions, no fine print you need a lawyer to read. Everything is on the page before you sign anything.

Small team, deep skill

We hire slowly and pay well. Every host on the floor has at least four years on a live table before they start here.

Leave the block better

We fund two community kitchens in East Van and sponsor the local rugby club. The street has been kind to us, and we pay it forward.

Milestones

Sixteen years, told in small moments

Not every year was a win, but each one taught us something worth keeping. Here is the short version.

2009

Eighteen rooms, one table

We opened in February with a staff of six. The neighbors complained about the parking and we fixed it by July.

2012

First salon opens

The old storage room became our first private salon. It seated twenty people and the ceiling was too low, but it worked.

2015

Full floor refit

We closed for eleven weeks, tore out the whole gaming floor and rebuilt it around the players instead of the cameras.

2019

Suite programme launches

Twenty-four rooms became signature suites with in-room tables and dedicated hosts. It filled within six weeks.

2022

Limit tools go live

Deposit caps, time limits and self-exclusion were rolled into the booking flow, well ahead of the legal requirement.

2025

Forty-two suites, three salons

Where we are today. Still independent, still owned by the same family, still on the same corner of East 8th Avenue.
